| About Our Site
This Web site was started for a very simple purpose. That is, to provide people with an unbiased information source on the myriad of existing Web hosting companies. Unlike other review-type sites available, we do not accept advertising bids from Web hosts, in exchange for prominent or key positions on our Web site. Nor is this site run by a Web hosting company itself. Some web hosting directories are actually owned by Web hosts themselves, and serve as a marketing platform for their own company.
When reading the opinions expressed on this Web site, please pay careful attention not to dismiss a Web host entirely due to some negative reviews. Every Web host, and I mean every Web host, has its share of aggravated customers. Not everyone can be satisfied, and any Web host that disputes this is wrong. So please note that it is more common for somebody to come here and post an emotionally negative review, instead of a positive one. Therefore, it is not uncommon for a Web host to have a large percentage of its customer base happy, and a small percentage not happy.
We know that finding the right home for your Web site can be a very tough decision. With literally thousands of Web hosts on the market today, it's hard to know which ones live up to their promises, and which fall short of them. We hope that the opinions you read on this Web site are useful, and steer you in the proper direction as to which Web host might be suitable for you.
All too often we are asked, "Which company provides the best web hosting?" or "Which company is the best?". The answer is, there is no one best host. It all depends on the number of resources your site will use. Some sites can get away with less than 10 MB of space, while others need in excess of 500 MB. Some users can get away without ever having to talk with a customer support technician, while others aren't able to do this. Some sites need to be on a dedicated server, while most don't. Some users need a simplified control panel, while most don't. The list goes on. So you really have to look at the nature of your site, and the kinds of resources it will use.
Please do your homework before signing-up with any Web host. Our site is a great tool to have, but it shouldn't be the only tool that you use in your research. Look around. Ask questions. But one thing is for sure: Always remember to make backups of your site, because any Web host is capable of losing your data. |
