Great affordable hosting but...
Globat offer an awful lot for your money, however buyer be warned - if you're planning on running anything that makes use of MySQL you will suffer enormously from the shockingly slow speed of their database services.
Page loading times on forums, CMS' and other DB driven apps can slow past 30 seconds per page.
Customer service are reliable when it comes to responding, but over 6 months of being posed the same question ("when are you going to increase the database speed?") they are evasive and give no straight answer.
Globat's CEO also runs a blog which fails to address their speed issues, despite many comments on the blog stating that it needs sorting out.
By comparison, flat html loads quick as you like. So it really boils down to a simple issue - if you're not using a database, go ahead and use Globat, if you are, go elsewhere. I currently have 3 sites hosted with them... not for much longer. |

Price and What You Get With It
Hi Ive been using globat to host my site for the past 4 months. I really like their services that they offer. When looking for a web company to host my site I wanted a company that would fit my budget and also give me the most for my buck. I found this with globat. I got the plan that you have 10 gigs of space and 300 gb bandwidth a month for approximately $6 a month. This is a really good deal. However sometimes their server speed tends to be a little slow which is annoying. When I had probelms I would contact the customer support and they would fix it on the dot. Although you have to wait a while for customer support (for me around 20-30 minutes) they are very pleasant and knowledgable and fixed my problem promptly. If you are looking for a good host then try globat. They usually have deals every couple fo weeks where you save a lot of money off hosting. Good Luck :) |
