the dark side of the hostnetway
Up until today I was a fan of HostNetways service - primarily it turns out, because up until today I had never had to deal with their customer service. It starts like this, two weeks ago on 1/26 I was sent to work up in Philadelphia by my company. Unfortunately, because the hotel didn't have Internet access I was unaware that a billing cycle came and passed. At this point I think it's important to point out that I had four web sites up two of them completed and was working on several more for an adsense network. I have spent several hundred hours to this point developing the sites, and several hundred dollars in advertising. I got home yesterday evening, and checked my email this morning to discover that I was past due on my account. Reminder 1, 2, 3, and 4 arrived, and I my account was terminated today without so much as a courtesy call. One of my sites was getting building traffic daily, and already had a few members blogging. Now all my work is basically ruined. I have the backups, but my startup is basically destroyed, because the traffic and membership is gone. I'm back to pre- square one. What was the big bill? $10. |
