They are very good - I have had 6 sites with them - still have two.
They have two problems which would make their rating a 7 for me.
1. Whether it's because they are in china or something else - they don't allow adult material, unless as they say: It's not of a prurient nature and is educational. Well if we want purient we should be able to have that. If bandwidth is the problem I can understand that - if china is the problem I can understand that too. They never answered that.
On one of my sites I was cancelled due to a spamkop report which they acknowledged was not an email I sent. I had used one of those ip blasters and someone complained and they cancelled me without warning. That was wrong and people should actually look into th ings before jumping the gun and cancelling. Other than that - they are very good. They do have a lot less space than others that are only slightly higher in price and they only include 2 mysql's - I have other sites that have included - 75 or unlimited mysql's and that's what I look for in a site now and the ability to put several domains on. |

1. About the fact that we do not allow adult content: It is not because we are in China (we are not), but mainly because adult sites tend to create a lot of problems, such as hack / cheat attempts, blacklisting, high traffic, etc.
2. About Spamcop reports: We do take them very seriously, but we NEVER cancel sites without investigating the case. This is the primary job of our dedicated abuse department - checking spam reports and taking the appropriate action. It should be noted that we cannot accept spam originating from our servers OR advertising sites hosted on our servers - in both cases, we would take measures to stop the originator.

Great overall value.
I signed up with ICDSoft's personal plan nearly four years ago now, and have renewed every year.
For a mere $5/month, you receive 500MB disk storage, 7 free subdomains, as well as ftp subaccounts, domain parking, and a couple mySQL databases. The kicker? No setup fees. Renewal also nets you a nice discount, as I pay roughly $40 per year for my hosting now.
Uptime and speed is about average, but where ICDSoft really wins is in customer support. They have an online ticketing system through www.ICDSoft.com, through which I have submitted around six tickets in the last four years. Every single one of them, as well as each subsequent response I sent back were answered within 24 hours, and most within the first 2-4 hours, and they have always been very accomodating (they once transferred my entire website over to another server temporarily when the server my site was hosted on went down). The only downside to the support is the ticketing link is a bit tricky to find on their website, but once you do find it customer support has never been easier, or better.
All the extras are there as well, solid website statistics, unlimited mailboxes, 30-day money back guarantee, etc.
All-in-all, ICDSoft provides a good amount of features and space for your buck, and decent speeds, but where they really win is in the quickness and helpfullness of their customer support team. I would definitely recommend ICDSoft to anyone out there looking for good, cheap hosting. |
